Book presentation I primi 50 anni del Club Gilles Villeneuve di Erbè by Stefano Benedetti
A book that tells the story and passion behind the club dedicated to the unforgettable Ferrari driver.
The subtitle of the publication, written by Stefano Benedetti, is “All Because of a Defeat”: in fact, the Erbè club was founded on September 8, 1974, the very day when the Ferraris of Lauda and Regazzoni were forced to retire from the Italian Grand Prix at Monza.
The volume is enriched with numerous letters and documents from Enzo Ferrari (known as “Il Drake”), former Ferrari president Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, and the late journalist Marcello Sabbatini, a great supporter of the Erbè club — a small town in the province of Verona, neighboring Castel d’Ario, the birthplace of Tazio Nuvolari, Bonferraro and Antonio Ascari.
This 50th-anniversary commemorative book presents the most significant moments of the Club, which was renamed in honor of Gilles Villeneuve after his death on May 8, 1982, at Zolder in Belgium.
It’s a story, the author says, that deserves to be known — one that connects the lives and events of a small town with the rich and storied world of Formula 1.
